Dr. John Hoch heads the Section of Vascular Surgery’s research laboratory. Research in the lab is focused on the use of adult stem cells to restore blood flow to extremities with poor arterial circulation and to use stem cells to speed the healing of wounds and ulcers. Dr. Hoch has clinical research interests including the use of minimally invasive techniques to improve arterial circulation in order to relieve pain and promote wound healing, the development of stem cell therapies for the restoration of blood flow in patients who are not candidates for bypass surgery or angioplasty, and the investigation of long term outcomes of patients with varicose veins managed with minimally invasive techniques. |
