Ellen M. Hartenbach, MD, Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology is the head of the Gynecologic Oncology research program at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center. She completed her residency at the University of Missouri and her Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at the University of Minnesota. She is Board Certified in both Ob/Gyn and Gynecologic Oncology. Dr. Hartenbach has been at the UW for more than ten years and is the site Principal Investigator for the national Gynecologic Oncology Group trials. Her passion is the delivery of compassionate comprehensive care to women with gynecologic cancers and to the development and refinement of strategies to improve cancer outcomes. She is a busy clinician and surgeon with a strong interest in clinical cancer trials and medical education.

Dr. Hartenbach’s clinical expertise is hereditary ovarian cancer, complex pelvic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and ovarian cancer care. Her research interests include ovarian cancer prevention and early detection, evaluation of sentinel lymph node biopsy techniques for cancer, peri-operative pain control and ovarian cancer therapeutics. |
